PRESS RELEASE
Cheered by the LA Times Victoria Looseleaf as a breath of fresh air
and heartfelt the PostHouse Dance Group will be presenting The Ties
That Bind in Hollywood at the Assistance League Playhouse on May 21
& 22 2004 at 8:00pm and May 22 at 2:30pm. Choreographer Diana MacNeil’s
company of artists will be performing new and old work in a program
featuring the best in contemporary dance and original music united with
classical traditions. A varied program discovering and defining relationships
between families, women, lovers and friends, The Ties That Bind has
a message for all ages.
The premiere of the re-constructed Anhalter Bahnhof creates the world
of women lost behind the Berlin Wall in the spring of Chernobyl and
Chosen Companions finds the timeless loveliness of a confident young
girl. Father and son feel the pain of the gradual separation during
adolescence in "Bach Duet/You Are for Me" and Jennifer Flanagan
in Fanatic looks for a way to win at the courtship ritual.
Film composer Jeff Rona (White Squall, The Mothman Prophesies, Chicago
Hope) again joins the Group with a return to the Horton award nominated
The Fall of the House of Usher and the wild and crazy audience favorite
If All Else Fails gets a fresh venue.
A special Childrens matinee on Saturday May 22 will feature Poulenc's
The Story of Babar played live by Michael Grady and narrated by Michael
Immel and danced by the company.
